Designed to reflect the historic context of the City of Fairfax, while also contributing to the vitality of its future. While low maintenance and high durability are essential for a public facility, the character of the project’s vaulted spaces also demanded a richness of materials and colors to complement the design.
The sheer volume of traffic was a major consideration for the design. Choosing carpeting that is aesthetically pleasing and yet functional to disguise and minimize wear and tear in those high volume areas, without looking industrial was a key factor.
Designer Cindy Sayers from Creative Design Solutions located in Alexandria, VA accomplished this earthy theme using traditional materials. The area rug, a natural sisal product from our Liz Claiborne collection banded with imported English tartan wool, lends an air of sophistication along with an earth friendly alternative to this room.
